Hello to all from beautiful Savannah Georgia. To start out, I would like to introduce myself and briefly explain the purpose of this blog.
To make this as quick and painless as possible I listed a few things about myself below...
-Born and raised in Grand Rapids Michigan playing multiple sports
-Graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High school in 2005
-Graduated from Duke University in 2009 as a member of the golf team
-Turned professional in 2009 after qualifying for the 2009 United States Open
-Started training with Zenolink a short time before turning professionally and officially joined the Zenolink team in 2010
Perhaps more important than who I am or where I've been is where I am headed. My goals are extremely important to me and for that reason I decided to sign with zenolink technologies earlier this year. I will be working/training with Zenolink throughout the course of the year to enhance my body movement patterns and essentially begin maximizing my overall swing efficiency. This blog will enable you to gain valuable insight into both my training away from the course and the impact of my practice and training in competition. With the help of Zenolink and my swing coach Brad Dean the sky is the limit!!
Beginning of the Egolf Tour season: (The Egolf tour is essentially one step below the Nationwide Tour, if you're not familiar with golf its comparable to single or double A professional baseball)
Currently I am getting ready for the first round of the Savannah Quarters Egolf event. I must say Savannah is quite a town and it has been a lot of fun checking everything out downtown! That being said preparing for the event has been my main focus (as much as I love sight-seeing). Overall my game at the moment is not firing on all cylinders. My training is in its initial stages and is going well, however the short game needs some improvement. Either way I am optimistic and excited to compete this week. My main goal right now is getting the training with Zenolink going and start improving swing fundamentals and movement patterns. The ultimate goal is to peak at specific time periods during the year and especially the end of the year (yet there is still room to be successful in many other events along the way!).
On any note it's time for some much needed rest down in Savannah (and some Olympics before bed!). Look forward to keeping you posted on my progress....It should be a great year and I'm very excited about all opportunities to continue getting better throughout the year!
Best,
-Clark Klaasen
